Embarkation & Dinner on board the cruise. Time to unpack, explore the ship and relax. Overnight on board the cruise in Aswan. |
| Day 2: Tuesday |
During the morning visit the temples of Kalabsha, an ancient Egyptian temple built during the early Roman era. Beit el Wali, ‘House of the Holy Man’, a rock-cut ancient temple built by Pharoh Ramesses II, and Kiosk of Qertassi, a small but elegant structure decorated in honour the goddess of, and patron of quarry-men and miners. Sail to Wadi el Seboua. Overnight in Wadi el Seboua. |
| Day 3: Wednesday |
Visit Wadi es-Sebua, ‘valley of the lions’ the site of two new Kingdom Egyptian temples. Dakka, the temple dedicated to Thoth, the god of overwhelming fire power, and Maharraqa a roman built temple, featuring a spiral staircase to it’s roof, which can’t be found in any other temple. Sail to Amada. Overnight in Amada. |
| Day 4: Thursday |
During breakfast sail to Qasr Ibrim and visit the city. Now an island, and the only major surviving archaeological site in Lower Nubia. Sail to Abu Simbel, part of the UNESCO world heritage site. Afternoon visit to Abu Simbel temples. (A sound and light show is available during the evening as an optional tour, this can be booked up to a week before you travel.) Overnight in Abu Simbel. |
| Day 5: Friday |
Free day, moored in view of the fantastic Abu Simbel temples. A full day to spend at your leisure. Enjoy the ships facilities and a spot of worshipping Ra. Overnight at Abu Simbel. |
| Day 6: Saturday |
During breakfast, sail to Qasr Ibrim and onwards to Amada. An afternoon visit to Temple of Amada, the oldest Egyptian temple in Nubia, and Temple of Derr, the only rock-cut temple to be built on the east bank of the Nile. Back on board, sail to Wadi el Seboua. Overnight in Wadi el Seboua. |
| Day 7: Sunday |
Full day of sailing, so kick back and enjoy the scenery from the top deck. There is an abundance of wildlife to look out for such as, Sand foxes, Dorcas gazelle, Monitor lizards, pelicans, hawks and kites. Tiger fish, and Nile Perch, are common place along side one of the most famous of Lake Nasser’s residents, the Nile Crocodile, Africa’s largest of it’s species. Overnight in Aswan. |
